Catnip

Catnip is a perennial herb that is beloved by cats for its intoxicating effects. It has soft, green leaves and small white flowers that are attractive to bees and other pollinators.

To grow catnip be sure to plant it in a location that receives plenty of sunlight. The herb prefers well-draining soil, so be sure to plant it in a location that does not retain water. Water the plant regularly, but be careful not to overwater as this can lead to root rot.

Catnip is a hardy plant that can tolerate a range of temperatures, but it will benefit from a layer of mulch to help keep the soil moist and cool during the hot summer months. Fertilize the plant with a balanced, all-purpose fertilizer once a month to help promote healthy growth.

In addition to being a favorite of cats, catnip is also a useful herb for humans. It has a minty aroma and can be used in teas, salads, and as a natural insect repellent. With proper care, your catnip plant will thrive and provide enjoyment for both you and your feline friends.
